Jason got his start in the So You're a Poet reading series in Boulder, Colorado, where he had the opportunity to read alongside such legendary performance poets as Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman. He won Denver's regional poetry slam in 1994 and performed on the main stage at that year's Lollapalooza festival. He also competed in the 1994 National Poetry Slam. In 2004, he placed second in the Brentano's Paris Poet Lauereate competition. He has published two volumes of poetry and has been invited to perform at venues across the United States and Europe.
